Default Security Light

Anybody else have their security light not go off sometimes? Every once in a while I get in start the car and drive off but that bright orange SECURITY light does not go off. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything other than my sense of worry and seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. sometimes it does/sometimes it doesn't

Gotcha, i have 3 keys for the car i'll have to see if it does the same with the others. i thought it was kinda weird that the light would come on but (at least so far) have no adverse reaction on starting or driving.

Mine did once after I used my key to cut a lime for a gin and tonic.

I agree with Chuck, this is the most likely cause. However, make sure that you clean the key pellet, they can get dirty. Normally they cause an initial Security issue if they need to be cleaned.

Try cleaning the pellet in the key first. If that doesn't work, check the other items mentioned. Good luck.
