Wanted to start a thread documenting my mods to my '98 Vert. Have quite a few things planned. First few mods will be cosmetic. I have plans to beef up the LS1 a little later (have to do a lil smoochin' up to the wife first). I hope you enjoy the thread and I'm always open to comments or suggestions.
Wasn't bad at all. I did use epoxy; just didn't trust the 3M peel-n-stick strips installed on the brackets. Cutting the carpet didn't turn out too bad, not good, but not bad ... I'll fix it later. Took it out for a spin on I-10 and it works GREAT! I recommend HIGHLY! I got the smoke tint w/ not etching because as you see I wanted a place to put my "LSU" decal.
Installed a Pro-Clip and an iSimple. This was the first time I took the center console apart. Was a little nervous even with all the detailed threads here explaining what to do. Now that I have done it ... No Sweat!
I used VRT Night Shade. Two coats, 600 and 1000 grit wet sand between coats. Shot of Clear Coat to seal them. I used this stuff on my Silverado w/out the clear and noticed it collected dust so we'll see how this works.
