Default Optimum height for C5 Handling

Hello,

I have a C5 with the Xtreme touring suspension with Bilstein shocks and all the solid tie rod ends. It is pretty much slammed to the ground. I think it was low when I first did the suspension but has settled in and is even lower. Once you have gotten used to it being low it is hard psychologically to raise it back up. It seems to handle really well. The only concern is it appears to have a reduction in suspension travel and sometimes I can get bounced out of the seat. This is not a huge concern at 75-80MPH, but I image it could be really bad at 120MPH. Has there been any kind of test or study that has determined the optimum height for handling for the C5?

Any opinions would be appreciated....

Stock height is best for handling potholes, speed bumps, and minor pavement imperfections at high speed- with factory F3 suspension especially. If the factory C5 has only 3 1/2 inches of clearance to start with---I am amazed that anyone would think to lower it further.

Remember: the compression travel of the springs must always be less than the clearance of the lowest part of the vehicle.

Lowering a vehicle in the snowbelt/frostbelt and making the clearance less than 3 inches seems to me to be thoughtless.

I see too many lowered vehicles bouncing on their bump stops on even pavement-and having to slow to a crawling speed to go over minor imperfections in pavement--- seem to be unreasonable to me-just to get the " ricer look".
