My 2000 driver side window will not roll down. You can here it "click" when you press the button. Passenger window rolls fine. My 2004 passenger window will not roll down, and driver side works fine. Any suggestions on diagnosing/fixing problem without stealerships high $$ advice?
Most likely the relay in the controller, in the door. I just read a thread on here about getting the relays from dig something or another lol. I have had the same problem in both my Vettes. I ended up buying used controller boxes ( for lack of proper term) and replaced the whole box. It is a plug and play, very easy access, just have to take the door panel off.
I have taken the panels off before in the '00 so I've got that part down. I know the box you are talking about too, I'll see what I can find on the web for replacement.
If you hold down the window button and vigorously bang the door panel the window will often start working again, and often continues to work fine for a long, long time.
Ok, I pulled panel and beat on the spot below door handle/lock. No luck, so I pulled the speakers out and beat on it from the back for a while as I pushed the down button continuously. No luck. I also wiggled wires and unplugged/rep lugged hoping to catch a loose connection, also no luck. This is all in the '04. My younger brother is driving the '00 so I'll have to wait to try this on its boogered window.
Do I break down and buy parts now, or are there any last ditch efforts to try? If I need to spend $$ what should I look to buy?
