I thought about it and looked at it after starting to really get annoyed by massive amounts of static that the little antenna wire with the metal piece was hanging and realized that it most likely connects to the little black flat film above that has 2 silver spots. Does anyone know how it connects? I think this may my problem
I looked in my FSM but could not find any details on it. I might have overlooked it but looked at the Entertainment and Stationary Windows sections. If you are having static issue make sure it is not from the primary antenna in the rear window. The rear window is the primary window and is AM and FM. The windshield is the secondary antenna and is only FM.
I'm 99% sure that no C5 came with a windshield antenna from the factory. They all have the motorized rear antenna.
Yours has probably been modified in an effort to not have to raise the unsightly rear antenna.
I'm referring to the diversity based antenna that coupes came with. It has two cable antennas that route to embedded pieces within the actual windshield and and defogger grid on the rear glass.
I actually looked at the defogger grid and the end of the cable actually has the piece I'm looking for and I have compared to pictures I've found online. Mine is definitely disconnected and not even attached to the embedded antenna on the windshield.
I'll send pics...now if I can just find a way to reattach it...
I have a 2001 coupe, am I understanding the antenna is in the windshield? Were ever it is, it must not be doing the job. I have a 1993 S-10 truck and the radio sounds better in it than the vette, what a disappointment.

Does anyone know how the original connector is stuck to the embedded antenna on the windshield. Is it originally soldered or is there a special adhesive?

BUS BAR/ANTENNA TERMINAL REPAIR
Do not attempt to solder the old terminal back onto the window. Obtain a new terminal with the solder and flux already applied to the terminal.
Protect the interior of the vehicle from the repair materials.
Buff the repair area with a fine steel wool.
Position the clip to the window.
Use pliers, or equivalent, to hold the terminal firmly to the window.
Where would I get the male terminal to solder onto the windshield? I know the female on the cable is a series 56 (I think?) terminal but the male doesn't even look similar to the male terminal of the windshield.
