I have been looking at a couple of C5s for sale and some of them had the fuel rail covers missing is this common?
Do people maybe sell them for a profit or something?
Also another one just said transmission serviced on the carfax. Not sure if it was a clutch or maybe just a fluid replacement.
Just wondering how strong the clutch is in theses cars I had a BMW once that went 178k miles on the original clutch and a 240sx with 240k on the original clutch.
I think I would rather have a manual than a automatic.
Covers just snap on/off. It's not uncommon to buy custom painted ones. Maybe they aren't willing to give them up?? Not expensive. Are you sure the fuel rails are stock? If you swap them to aftermarket aluminum, most don't fit under the covers.
As for the clutch... it's a performance car. It really depends on the driver. To R/R a clutch on a vette, the torque tube and rear end have to drop out. $500-$700 usually in labor.
There's tons of info in the stickies so read up on those little idiosyncrasies. Good luck hunting and post pics of your new ride once you get it.

You might just ask the seller where the fuel rail covers are. There' not a whole lot of profit in used FRCs but maybe they just didn't like the looks if them on the car.
or they may just want a different look . . .there's an swesome C5 FRC in the for sale section -- I know the owner and he just prefers the look without the covers.
They're easy to find if the owner no longer has them- I have an extra set for my 02 somewhere in the garage.

I bought a set of red covers so I have the black ones laying around somewhere. If the cars you're looking at are ZO6's they had the red covers, people like me with torch red cars pay for red covers, so yes they do sell them sometimes
