Default horn issues

Hello,

The other day I was driving and had a car pull out in front of me. I smashed on the horn quite hard in my frustration. When I let off of the horn it just kept on blowing. I pushed again and it quit but when I let off again it would blow again. I had to pull to the side of the road and remove the horn fuse to get it to quit. I know the issue is in the steering wheel but is there a way to get to it without the airbag blowing up in my face. Just asking for suggestions but this may have to be a repair for the pros. I would like to do it myself as it is a simple thing as to readjust the connectors but again airbag to the face is something I would rather not have happen. Plus those things are expensive. Thanks.

I believe you will have to remove the airbag assembly;

Good luck.

I attempted to remove the air bag assembly from the steering wheel, but unless you have a quality 1 1/2" Torx bit, you risk the chance of stripping the screw. I ended up taking it to my mechanic who had it out in 10 mins I provided the new membrane that I had ordered from a CF vendor, I forget the amount, and he installed it. Labor was $60.00, well worth price vs the fear of the air bag blowing up in my face.
