I have an 03 z06 daily driver. About to hit 90k miles. Over the past month my vette now sounds like it is going to rattle itself to death. I noticed something odd today while driving. If I make a somewhat sharp turn to the left (only left) its quiet as a mouse. As soon as a I straighten up back to rattling.
rattles are:
rear view mirror above 65mph
front dash..sounds like from vent..above 35
bottom panel behind backseat..internal storage area
front suspension when going over speed bumps (not related to other rattles I'm sure)
but when turning left all rattles stop. Any ideas? I'm gonna get underneath it tonight and check it out. Maybe tires rubbing on frame? Alignment is as straight as can be. Tires at 32 front 34 rear.

*Update*
Also - when driving - when I hit like 35 or so - that is when the rattling starts. The interior of the car sounds like a bass subwoofer on low - or you ever have your RPMs too low in a stick and accelerate real fast - it creates that 'bass' sound in the car - sounds like that. When I turn left - it shuts off as quick as a blink of an eye. When I straighten up boom - back instantly. I can even feel the rattling in my seat.
Gosh I can imagine how frustrating that muct be.. maybe it's a wheel bearing??
I had a similar low-frequency sound like that in a previous car (G35 Coupe) that was caused by the rear bearings going bad... but I can't remember if it went away on turns or not.
That's a bummer. I haven't had any issues like that with my corvette, but I did have a ball joint issue on my camaro that caused some vibration. It was more felt in the steering column and it would pop when I turned right. I replaced it and voila. Not sure if that's your deal, but worth checking non the less. Good luck!
Possibly bad torque tube/driveshaft bushings. I've heard before that it's a good idea to replace these when doing a clutch, they can go bad and cause pretty severe vibrations. Not sure why yours would stop under a turn but these are something to think about checking. Do a search under 'vibration' in subject field and there are lots of results to check out.
The more I think about this, your turning left is putting tension on something that is loosey goosey otherwise. There are lots of joints to be had in the suspension. One of which is unhappy without tension, then when you apply a tension to what has to be the left side, it's tightening to the point where the vibration stops. I wish I knew more about the suspension on these cars, and to my03c5z's point, search vibration. I'd go more along lines of suspension vibration, but who knows. That left turn deal would make sense. Anyway, good luck again. Somebody on here I'm sure knows.
Thanks for the replies. I'll be checking it out here in a couple hours. If I can't figure it out i'll just take it to the Corvette place in town.
Rear/Driver hub bearing. Replaced and BOOM...quiet as a mouse. Interestingly enough - my car (from the day I've owned it..about 8 months now) has always had a noise that I attributed to Air being 'sucked' into the air-intake for the rear brakes..those vents by the rear tire that look great on the z06..anyways - thought this was that air movement..kinda sounded like a jet engine or something. Anyways - my hub bearing was also causing this 'roar' sound. I guess that is a sign the hub bearing is going bad? At the time I bought my car the ride was smooth as can be. Now it's relatively quiet and smooth.
Now to fix a couple of leaks and i'll be good to go. Thanks for the help.
