Default Parking for 6 months

I am contemplating leaving my C5 convertible parked in my garage here in Ocala from May 10 thru Nov. 1.
If I do so, what should I do to the Vette prior to covering it over?

I store my car in my warehouse for months at a time and live in SC. At minimum fill the tank up and put in some StaBil gas treatment. Pull the battery out and take it with you and keep it charged with a trickle charger.

Also put out some poison and traps so no rodents decide to get in the garage and start eating wiring which they can do and it happens.

Had something do this to mine, parked for just a few weeks. 10 million mouse traps later, never did catch anything, but I had to rewire a lot of stuff because of it. Major pain in the ***.

That's why everyone tries the mothballs, Irish Spring and dryer sheets. Mouse damage sucks in any car. Best thing I have found to catch mice around here is baited glue traps.

Not sure how the mothballs, irish spring and dryer sheets work... but I put out sticky traps, cage traps, spring traps, used every type of food you can think of, didn't get anything.

It was about 2 years ago... no problems since... but damn I wish I would have caught him. I probably would have committed animal cruelty felonies.

Mothballs, dryer sheets and Irish spring kept my C3 mouse free for 10 years. I hope they work as well on my C5.
