Don't give up and please be patient. I had looked for YEARS before my Vette actually came up for sale only a couple of miles from my front door. A good friend got married and his new wife had her own car but they only had a one car garage and he didn't want to leave one of them parked outside so they decided to keep her big SUV and sell the Corvette and that's how I got it. Hang in there.

Googled the vin later that day car came up for sale in my area for 18700.00 same exact car same exact mods..The car dealer bought it and really inflated the price. This car shopping really sucks..... Oh yeah found a 2003 z for sale 16000 miles go to see that the same day the car smelled like stale pot, car was dirty the owners name sounded familiar well did some research on the name and they are in trouble with the law and were on the news.. I cant seem to win And the only reason I am looking again is the deal I have Might not go through now Seller says he might not want to sell after EVEN giving him his asking price, about a month and a half ago. hE said he would let me know by the end of the week
I haven't made my own post about it yet but will soon when I get a chance to get some decent pics of it that aren't dealer stock. I just lost my '98 on the 7th of this month. Was driving to work here in IN on what was supposed to be (and turned out to be) a really nice day but that morning the roads were slicker than normal as moisture from the night before (was warm the previous day) had managed to freeze over in the very early hours of the morning and the roads were still slick from it at 6 in the morning while I was traveling. Damn cat (rural, highway area, 55MPH zone) ran out in front of me, instinctively tried to dodge it, and well, we all know where this is going. Lost control on the slick road, glanced off the top of the ditch next to the road (tearing up/out the bottom of the front end and setting the airbags off) and slid a little ways out into the corn field. Good times. :-/ Got the word 3 days later it was totaled. Wouldn't have thought so just to look at it, but those damn airbags REALLY cost.

ANYWAY, in relation to YOUR post; I just got back from a roadtrip to Dallas, TX. Found the exact car I wanted at the right price. '04 MN6 coupe, black with light oak interior, 90K on it. $16.9K. "Higher" miles (to the average Vette crowd), but still considered low for the year by average car standards and compared to the $20-$25K range I'd been seeing for the same car with 20-40K miles, I'll take the extra cash. Went ahead and bought an extended warranty with it (36K Miles/3 Years) as I figure if the clutch goes out and the harmonic balancer did like on my '98 right after 100K, it'll more than pay for itself. It's at the local dealer right now getting a couple of the minor issues taken care of that I found with it on the way home, then off to the tint shop (has tint already but is in horrible condition. Was either not a quality job to begin with or the Texas heat absolutely destroyed it) and then all is well again. I'll get pics of it up after that. Has a Borla exhaust already installed which I'm really digging, my '98 was still rocking the factory exhaust.

Walk away. There are good deals out there, from guys who are 'not' trying to pull something, or hide something.
Keep looking, time is passing slowly.
