Just installed new switchbacks on my '03. I have a Canadian car, so have full-time day-time-running lights. The lights are supposed to be white when the drl are on, so in my case, they should be white all the time. Well, that is not happening. When I start the car, the lights are white, as they should be, go for a drive, come home, leave in park, no brake, and jump out to check them out. They are now amber, and before my eyes, they turn white again. This has happened 4 or 5 times now. A few times, they just stayed amber, and didn't turn white again.
I disconnected the resistors, thinking maybe that was somehow affecting things, but that didn't make any difference.
Purchased from supporting vendor, and am waiting for a call back from their support.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced these same problems, or any ideas what it might be.
Thanks
Gary
Well, no luck with the vendor. They have no idea why they are doing this.
Very weird situation, as the lights are usually amber, and then turn to white as I put it in park and walk around the front to take a look at them. The problem must be with the electrical of the car, and not the lights, as both do exactly the same thing at the same time.
Guess I will just have to live with it.
I had similar problem with my switchback bulbs last year. They worked fine for 2 years, then started missing the amber color one day then all amber the next day. Then one side worked fine the other side not so good. Switch the bulbs around and the bad bulb would work fine alone, but put the good bulb in and the problem came back. Then the good bulb started acting up and the bad one started working fine. I replaced the bulbs with new ones and everything is back to normal. Paid a lot for the first set of bulbs, this set was $8 on ebay. So far so good
