Default Another cheap fix for "Dog Ears Visor"

Like many of the rest of us here I too have succumbed to the infamous "dog ear" visor curse.

I've considered all the previously posted "fixes" and ultimately came up with something a little different (so far as I know).

First I purchased a pair of "1997-o4 Black Sunvisor Label Covers" from Eckler's for $14.99. These are those peel and stick covers that you can use to cover the information stickers on the sunvisors.

I carefully pushed the "dog ear" into the main part of the visor (if you do it right the dog ear should slide into the two pieces that comprise the main visor). All or most of the dog ear should disappear into the visor.

Then I trimmed one of the peel and stick covers and carefully applied it over the outer edge of the visor (overlapping equally on both front and back if the visor), making sure it was a nice, tight fit. Since the cover matches the fabric on the visor it's not a bad looking "fix" to the problem. No perfect but it looks a lot better than having those damn "ears" flapping in the breeze.

Sorry don't have any pictures but I am sure you can visualize what I am talking about.

Good luck if you try it.

Why don't you just flip them forward, up against the windshield?
Outta face, outta mind.

Thats exactly what I do, especially when I have the top off. To me it looks a little goofy to have the sun visors sticking up with the top off so I flip them all the way forward and you don't even notice that they are there.

I bought leather covers on the auction site from a company in the UK for about $70. They attach with Velcro which runs the length of the arm. It is not even noticeable.

I have my "dog ears" folded up against targa top (vs folding down hitting you in the face). Works like a charm unless the targa is off.

Ive been thinkin about removing mine all together as well. The look is much cleaner without them with the targa off, and i take the targo off every chance i get

Why not just buy NEW visors, fairly cheap and better than the originals.
