Default Limiting Window Travel

Is there any fairly simple way to stop the drivers window from going all the way up, stopping about an 1/8" from being all the way up.

When my window is all the way up, top rear corner of the window just barely catches my convertible top, when I open or close the door. If I drop the window less than a 1/4" it goes past without catching and the window still seals OK.

I have not pulled the door panel off to look at what limits the windows upper travel.

Is there an adjustment, or fairly simple modification I can make to keep the window from going up the last 1/8" or so? If so, how?

Yes. But you have to take the panels off. There is an adjustment screw on each bracket that holds the window on the regulator.

THANKS for the reply!

I'll pull the door panel off and do some adjusting.

I'm far from being an expert, but maybe your convertible top needs to be adjusted.

For minor window height adjustments of 3mm or less (~1/8") you don't need to take the door panels off. You just need to remove the rubber grommets on the bottom of the door.

I need to check my passenger side window height adjustment this weekend. It makes a little more wind noise than the driver's side and it leaks a little bit of water in heavy rain or during washing. The driver's side is nice and tight.

I adjusted my top last weekend and it helped a little with the noise and leak, so tomorrow I'm going to pop the rubber plugs out of the bottom of the door and check the height adjustment. (mine is about an 1/8" too low.)

Dan, thanks for the suggestion/advice, and the link!!!!!!!!

I was able to adjust the top to get clearance, without readjusting the window.

I wish I would have done a search/post years ago.
