Default Potholes and the spring roads !

Wow, are the roads bad this year or what ? On the news here in Delaware Valley, the potholes and the roads are really tore up and they had the cameras view of a C6 blue vert and he had hit a particularly bad pothole. Busted his wheel and destroyed his right front tire. I saw that and I thought man, it's gonna be September before the roads are patched up.

Are the roads in your area any better or worse from last year ? I'm kinds afraid of venturing out and damaging my C5 beauty !

Roads are bad around here. They are worse shape this year because of the bitter cold ,frost, plowing. There was a lot more plowing and more bitter cold temps this year than the past couple of years.. There most likely not going to get a lot better until it warms up and blacktop plants start making hot blacktop and not the cold patch material they use in the winter months

We call it the pot hole slalom here in northern IL. Diffidently test your driving skills. Still took my 04 out for a drive today before all the rain and nasty weather hits again.

The roads are pretty bad here. Fortunately the cities have been pretty good about getting them patched though. It was a rough winter.

I've never seen the roads up here in Bucks Co. in such a poor condition. There's a pot hole down the street that had a 2' cone in it and only the top 8" to 10" is showing. I hate to have to drive at night, or rain.

We had the worst winter on record here in Wisconsin and another storm on the way tomorrow. The roads are in the worst condition I can remember in my 60 years.

This winter in Minnesota has been one of the worst on record combining both cold temperatures and snowfall. Pot holes are enormous and everywhere. You would think that in today's world that someone would come up with a method of road repair that holds up longer than it does.
We are supposed to get another 6-12" beginning Thursday (4/3) and ending Friday afternoon.
Our season in Minnesota for Corvettes and boats is around 4 1/2 months!
Probably looking at re-instating full insurance coverage and take it out around June 1 the way it looks around hear!

Default Roads roads and the damage they put out !

Like bill said, so many of these roads are so pot marked with holes, you need to swerve or try to slow down, but in many cases both the shoulder and the macadam is so cratered that you have to quickly decide if your going to take the hit on the drivers side or the passengers side. Ugly to have to decide since you've funneled so much hard work into your baby !

I'm in the Lehigh Valley (pa) and I want to know when did it become acceptable to put orange cones or street marking signs in the pot holes themselves. To me, it's like township crews are saying " to bad we are not going to do our jobs today, but avoid this area" What????

What recourse do we have? I'm shooting for the Fourth of July!

Lots of potholes around here too. With the winter being so cold, no work was done to repair potholes as they occurred.

When I went by the pot hole there were people taking photos of the cone and the hole. I'm not sure but it could have been the police and then the road crew came out later. It seems that as soon as they do a repair it rains and the patch washes out and you're back to a deep crater again.

The roads here in Delaware suck big time!!! My car isn't coming out for at least another month to give the road crews time to repair all the craters ......

Where do you live! I am guessing maybe in 2037, sometime after China repos the Government and calls the note.

I'm pretty sure that it's a national problem.

I just finished reading my local morning newspaper. The highway maintenance supervisor for my town was quoted as telling his family members to stay off one particular main road in our town.....it's THAT bad. Problem there, is the road runs through the middle of the town, but it's a state route, and the state is slow in getting it fixed up.

The comment about record low temps reminded me of something. I had a concrete driveway installed at my house 8 years ago. After pouring the driveway, the contractor made some "relief cuts" into it, to allow for expansion/contraction. I thought nothing of it until this winter, when a couple of sections lifted about 1/4-3/8", I assume to the extremely cold temps freezing some deeply residing water areas. I just hope everything returns to normal, without cracking.

The potholes are so bad in Ontario, they swallow Corvettes for breakfast.

This was just posted on the Canadian page.
