In a few weeks I will be doing the Corvette Assembly Plant Tour, and the Corvette Museum Tour. Anything anyone can tell me I should look out for? I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.

For the museum, just take your camera or video camera and take plenty of pics - good for memories later down the road. Lots of very things to see there.
No pics allowed at the plant, but being able to see the cars going down the line is quite the experience. Think of some questions for the tour guide, they enjoy being asked about the process.
I have done the plant tour twice, and honestly i didn't find it to be that impressive. I strongly suggest staying very close to the tour guide or else you will not hear what they are saying. I have also done the Harly Davidson plant tour and they use a wireless microphone system. You get a little speaker device that you hang on your ear and you can hear everything that the tour guide says. I wish the corvette plant would use a similar system.
A co-worker is going to the museum and plant this week. Pretty sure this is his 3rd time. I wish I was going. Have a great time and soak it all in. Don't forget to post pics.

Check out some of the cars sitting in unusual places along the line. A few years back I spotted one with some unusual wheels and asked about them. They said that could not comment, and later that year, those were one of the new C6 wheels for the new year. Kind of fun to just look in all the nooks and crannys! Enjoy! Zuti
I enjoyed visiting both the plant and the museum in 07. Be sure and join the museum while you're there.
Or better yet, join the museum before you go - then you get in free.
I see the plant is closed for tours during their shutdown the first two weeks in July. We were planning on going in July, but we don't have exact dates set yet.
How soon in advance should we try to set reservations for the remainder of July? Are they hard to come by due to the shutdown?
Going down for the Birthday Bash. First time there. Driving from Long Island. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the tip about starting up the car off the assembly line and getting close to the tour guide. Any other suggestions as to what to see while there and any GREAT resturants to eat at????
