Default Header Wrap

Hello. My 2001 Z06 already had long tubes on it when I bought it. With summer coming on, I'm thinking header wrap might be nice... Has anyone installed wrap after installed???? Maybe a stupid question, but I just don't know. Thanks.

Never had a performance related heat issue even in the 90 plus degree summer days with a 408 stroker, longtubes and a blower. The tunnel heat is noticeable inside though even with dynomat. I'm not sure it has any real value. Just my opinion though.

Do not wrap your headers.

If you want to do anything to them, get them HOT JET COATED.

My exhaust guy showed me an example of what was left of a wrapped header (he yelled at me for wrapping mine).

It was rotted away and full of holes.

OK. Thanks for the input. I'll just leave them unwrapped. I'll see about tunnel heat this summer... So far, I have noticed that tunnel heat is less in my Z06 with the manual tranny as compared to my coupe with an auto tranny. Tunnel heat was pretty warm in the hot summer in the coupe so I did the reflectix lining, which helped a lot.
