E-Bay is full of after market wheels for sale. I looking at some ZR1 wheels for my C5. There are several wheel companies selling which appears to be the same wheel at different prices. House of Wheels is one of the companies I am considering a purchase from?
Who can give me some general knowledge on after market wheels and any cautions I need to look out for?

Thank you for your input.. My main concern is buying a aftermarket wheel and they not holding up on a vette?
When the c6z06 wheels first came out I ordered a set from house of wheels. Quick shipping and great price. They look as good today as they did 8 years ago.

I have a set of black ZR1 repro wheels off ebay. Had them a little over a year now on my FRC, seem to be holding up well, the finish still looks great!

Running a set of ZR1 style 18/19's I bought with tires and new TPM sensors all installed from Tire Rack. They clearly label what fits and what does not on their web site. I used C6 tire sizes -look good on my silver C5. Been on a few years now, no issues. Having said that, I saw a very nice black C5 yesterday (parked next to me) with polished "base" C6 style spoked wheels - really suited the black car. BTW, at the rear there is around a 20mm difference in offset between C5 and actual C6 wheels, so be careful what you buy if you buy from ebay, etc.

Thanks for the input- I was not aware Tire-Rack sold TPM sensors?

Yes, they just need to know what year (early or late TPMS system) your car is and they put the whole thing together for you - you just have to go through the TPMS "learning" process - they even included a magnet for that job! FYI, mine gets driven year round unless there is snow, so I opted for Michelin Pilot A/S tires as against the Pilot Sports. They work well - and have more grip that you can safely use driving on public roads, IMO. Good in the wet/slush too. Even got me home in significant snow that caught me out this winter.

I have a set of Factory Reproduction C5 Z06 wheels on my car and they have been on there since it was new (so 11 years). Still look like new and not one problem.
if you're going with the zr1 rims i would recommend going up in sizes to 18/19 or bigger if you like. zr1 rims in 17/18 just don't look right in my opinion.

Thanks - I will take a second look? I few club members have the ZR1 on their C5 but unsure of the size they have?

Totally agree - 18/19's just look better all around IMO. I lowered my C5 a little when I put the 18/19's on so that the wheels have a better "fit" in the wheel arches in terms of "air gap" around the wheel. Worth it for the improved look, IMO - and easy to do.
