Default Wheel and Tire question

Hello all! Been thinking about switching up wheels on Z and I have a question. If I went to a 18/19 wheel package what would be the right size tires to get to maintain proper ride height, revs per mile, ect, ect? Tried a search and sizes where all over the place. I want to stay at the same diameter as the factory 17/18 sizes. Thanks!!!!!!!!!! John

The closest you can get to stock Z06 sizes is 265/35/18 and 295/30/19, however in hindsight I might have either moved the rear tire up to a 305/30/19 or the front tire down to a 255/35/18 to have the sidewall heights be equal in the front and rear. Stock Z06 sizes have a slightly taller sidewall in the front than the rear.

I would not do19s I have them now and it looks good but that's about it...and if you play around with your car like i do ..tires are really expensive and traction is horrible. ..If anything I would just go nicer 18" in the back 17" in the front just different / nicer wheels... But that's my opinion

I disagree. 17-inch summer maximum performance tires are going the way of the dodo bird... an 18/19 combo is the best way to take advantage of the best tires available. I'm going from one 18/19 combo to another, and my Z06 handles and rides just as I would expect there are plenty of events in the cards for this ride as well, so I'm not in it just for the looks.

Point taken I was thinking the bigger rims would cause some performance issues ( moment of inertia ) I cleaned up my factory wheels and they look like new. Just need to do something with the center caps. Bridgestones only 700.00 a set from Tirerack. Thats whats on there now and they are really good long lasting tires in my opinion

OEM Tires
P265/40ZR-17 Front @ 824 Rev/mile
P295/35ZR-18 Rear @ 801 Rev/mile

The closest 18 Front & 19 Rears will be:

In 18 Front & 19 Rear
P265/35ZR-18 Front @ 822 Rev/mile

P295/30ZR-19 Rear @ 798 Rev/mile
or
P305/30ZR-19 Rear @ 792 Rev/mile

The lower the Rev/mile, the larger the tire's diameter. The P305/30ZR-19 Rear will give you a little more side wall height than the P295/30ZR-19.

NOTE: not "summer max perf tires" but R-compound TRACK tires including scrub slicks are available in 18" combinations and are far cheaper than other rim sizes. You are welcome to spring for OZ or expensive wheels, but !8" REAR C5 Z wheels will work fine on both ends.It is NOT necessary to run huge tires if you are running track tires. Scrub slicks or Hoosier A6 tires in a 265 width are far stickier than any 345 street tires.

The best 18 & 19 sizes are 265/35/18 & 305/30/19. These sizes will have the same sidewall heights. For wheels a proven fitment is 18x9.5 54-59mm offset and 19x11 64-65mm offset.

And Tire Rack has the OZ wheels on sale for $2700.00. But you need to select a C5 coupe/vert as they still list the incorrect 53mm offset 19x11 wheels for the C5 ZO6. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resul...1&autoModClar=
