What in the left door wiring loom makes the car go bats**t crazy when I lean my leg against it?
I thought I read on the forum before about an unshielded wire touching ground but can't find anything when I search.
Just looking for some background before I dig into it. I've got the wiring diagram on a disk somewhere.
Thanks
It's not an unsheilded wire, the wire in the clear tube is a speaker ground drain tube. I would suggest you pull back the accordian tube from both the pillar and the door. Fish out the wire bundle from the pillar, unplug and clean all contacts and make sure the wires are pushed into each side of the plug, then do the same to the bundle in the door. You should be good to go. Bill

I had it happen about 4 years ago, went over a speed bump, lights, bells, all kinds of warning messages. With in a few minutes the battery went dead. My son and I jumped it, and he followed me home with no problems just the lights and bells. By 2am I had everything apart cleaned and back together. I didn't want to start it at that hour so off to bed. Got up and started it no warning messages, bells. I cleared all codes in the DIC and have not had any issues since. If you run the codes make sure you clear them. I had a batch of no comm. codes and LDCM, RDCM, also the HVAC codes. You will hear the hvac doors re set when you clear the codes (if you have them). I didn't find any loose wires but did find a few milky looking beginnings of corrosion so cleaned everything up. So far, so good. I wiggled and slung my knee against it some. It would normally set off every light on the dash but no bells and whistles so far. Once again, thanks Bill. I was tired of getting that sinking feeling that everything was about to explode before I realized "Oh, I just hit the door panel again."

Could this cause a parasitic draw? I just purchased a 2001, and was told it had a draw that will drain the battery after about 15 hours. I'm doing research so when the car gets delivered to me, I will have some direction.
Sorry for the hijack!

I have read of a lot of drain issues on C5's but have never had one. I drive mine at least once a week year round and don't use a trickle charger. My Porsche battery dies within a week of not driving periodically and it is always corrosion at ground points. Get's me every time.
