Not necessarily. Originally I didn't want one that was tracked but as an owner that tracks now I can say that I take meticulous car of my car. I change the fluids a ton, wash it all the time, make sure everything is tip top. That being said it does still get beat on at the track and components wear and have to be replaced.
Probably no different than people who lie about how they took care of it on the street.
If an owner constantly redlines the car, misses some shifts, and slips the clutch, all while running a high temps, which happens when tracking at the road course, it has to take its toll.
I tracked my first Z. I short shifted (DEs are not racing, IMHO) and I tried to be reasonable with it, and it held up well; but even being careful it endured some serious heat and brake wear.
