I plan to do a very similar style with black but can't figure out the bat way to make the lip have a clean straight finish. Do you think your way is better than taping it off? What do you mean you scored it and rubbed off? Did you see this in a video?

How hard is this stuff to take off if you don't like it? Can you tell where it's been?
Looks great!!!

I tried taping it off the first time I dipped the wheels and you can do it but if you dont remove the tape fast enough you can get really bad pulling on the area you dont want removed and you may have to start over.

USING A RAZOR TO SCORE/CUT THE EDGES CAN LEAVE MARKS ON THE WHEEL SO DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK! ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE VERY EXPENSIVE WHEELS!

I just found the razor to be an easier and more effective way to get my clean edges and the wheels are just cheap repros so I didnt care if they had marks on them. And I couldn't see the razor marks until I removed the dip and changed the color.

No video that I know of, I just figured I'd try it and see what happened.

The more layers you put on the easier it is to take off. Putting on 5-7 coats would be the minimum that I would reckomend (that can inclued clear glossy coats or base coats of black or white for different colors). If you only use a few coats 1-3 you the dip will tear alot while you try to remove it and you will need to use a micro fiber towel to rub the pieces off your surface.

If you do 5 or more coats of dip you should be able to remove all of it in one piece give or take. Its like peeling a popped balloon off your paint is the best way to describe it I guess. If done like this there should be nothing left on your paint at all, no residue chemicals or anything.

I just peeled off my fender stripes and resprayed them this weekend for a car show. They had some wear and I wanted them new and nice looking took about 20mins start to finish.

And thanks!

Very nice! You now got me wondering whether I should try spraying my thinspokes. Not too keen on the polished aluminum look.

You need to hit up those magnesium wheels for a good price in the for sale section. Lightest weight wheel and came this color from the factory! I do like, though
