Default What next....

So I sold my motorcycle so I have some extra $$ to play with.. I just got my artic 97 mn6 back a few weeks ago from a cam, timing chain, oil pump install. Since owning for the past year I have done full exhaust headers, cai, z07 wheels, c6 z06 big brake kit, short shifter and lowered.

What can I do next?.. Im looking for some ideas. I was looking into the corbea seats or hid headlights but I'm leaning toward performance mods. I'd like the appearance to seem mainly stock because I love how it looks already.

Lets hear it.....

I'm thinking heads too.. Being a 97 I have the older size. Way would you recommend ls6?

Anything else while I'm in there? I it worth to do intake manifold and throttle body? I hear mixed reviews to if its worth all the $$ for little payback.

Why not? For a fair amount of cash you can get some 243 heads have them machined to your taste if needed. The gains that i have seen over an intake manifold and TB haven't been very impressive IMO to reflect the cash you're going to spend on it. On my current setup it may never see a FAST 102 or bigger TB. I'd rather just use the cash for a "safe" nitrous kit.

I agree that a set of good heads would be a nice upgrade and you can consider getting a new set of rear gears - perhaps some 3.73s.

I would have to agree with rear end gears, big time. The one most feelable mod you can do for reasonable money. There is no mistaking a two ratio change (3:15 to 3:73) in performance. Will let you really enjoy the money you have already spent just that much more!!

Okay correct me if I'm wrong but gears won't actually add power right? It will just give a quicker start and more tourquey feeling around town? Also will I feel it as much as a manual opposed to auto?

Sorry for rookie questions... Never did gears on anything other than lifted jeeps.

Get an LS6 intake. You get 2/3rds the gain of a FAST intake at 1/3rd the price. I would also port the throttle body yourself while you're there, helps throttle response.

New double DIN head unit and/or speakers would be a good purchase.

You could read up in the 'C5 Forced Induction' area of the Forum, and see what installing a superchargrer on C5, enables it to do performance wise.
And yet still remain perfectly calm when just tooling around town.

Good luck whatever you do.
C5 rocks !!!

Yeah, that's why I said "feelable". You are not adding HP numbers, but it feels stronger because it is so much easier for the drive train to move the car. Yes to quicker and more torquey, but in all actuality, isn't that what we really want when we do mods? How often would you use 20 extra mph at the top-end, etc. Around town and country roads/canyons are where most of us use our performance.

No problem with rookie questions, that's how we find out what we want to know. Besides, I am no expert, just sharing experiences.

I would go with after market heads, intake and TB. Then you'll need a new clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder. Once you start the list never ends.....

I would go with C6 Z51 sway bars with metal end links and C6 Z06 shocks. Great improvement in handling for not so much money.

Yes I saw these the other day. Sounds like a nice upgrade.

After some homework I think I'm going with ls6 heads, port TB and 42 lb injectors takes offs. I'd like to do an intake too but the fast 92mm is $850.

What do ya think? Any leads on parts or intakes? I think I have someone who has take off heads and take off injectors slightly used.
