how much of an install can you handle? 5 min or 2 hours?
how much can you spend?
what kind of gains do you want?
a 2002+ z06 filter lid and k&n cost under 100 and are worth about 10hp on a base coupe, also great for heavy rain due to the design
blackwing, little more money, couple more hp,
haltech and honker, more money still, few more hp, can get wet in rain
vararam is the odd one out. makes a lot of hp in most situations, can require retuning, will most likely dirty the filter the fastest. not ideal for wet weather operation, but, very popular with guys who don't daily drive and drag race
I can't complain about my Volant, got it from a forum vendor for $150 shipped. I removed the fog light covers and each filter gets a straight shot of air and looks great. I had a stock filer and box with the zip tie mod before and definitely noticed sotp and the "sucking" sound.
I would love everyone's opinion on what air intake system I should get for my stock C5 coupe!! Thanks.
I have a Mid American Motor Works Cold Air Intake, a Granatelli MAF sensor, and a Carbon Fiber Power Duct for $400, which is less than half of what it sells for new.
My Vararam works great,
Mine is not a daily driver, however it has been driven many times in very heavy rainstorms and at freeway and tollway speeds with no issues. So I do not think the rain issue is a problem.
No if you want to drive thru 10 plus inches of water you may have a problem ...........
Stock C5? Save your money and just put a reusable element in your stock system. Unless you make other changes you won't get diddly out of it. It will look cool as hell but it will be pretty much worthless. You can only take in as much air as you can exhaust. I do like the way some of them look though.

you ever dyno test it? those multi filter setups were discontinued for a reason. they created turbulence where the air met
