At first, I thought it was an awesome idea. Ram air. faster times, better traps, fuel efficiency, etc.
Then.....I came to realize the design was somewhat flawed in that the seal in between the clam shell design wasn't so sealed. The rubber foam sealing material needs replacement often in dry heat like Arizona, and I believe it wasn't sealing exactly how it was advertised.
That being said, I never had any issues over it either.
Some will argue that torrential downpours will allow too much rain into the intake but keep in mind the rain would have a large distance of travel up the ram air scoops, through the air filter, through the air bridge, and into the intake. If you go nose diving into an 18 inch puddle, yeah....You may seize (hydro-lock) your engine.
If I were to do it again? I may pass on it due to the price, maintenance requirements, and little gains seen/felt/proven.
I had one for a few years, now I'm supercharged. BUT if I ever went back to no supercharger....I'm going to go back Vararam VR-B2 and Powerduct. NOTHING else is even close.
