Default rattle,shake

only had 03 for a month, just now getting nice enough out to drive more frequently! It has 11,800 miles on it. When I pull it in garage and turn off ignition, I get a little vibration and rattle from underneath, almost like exhaust rattle against heat shield, is this a common occurrence? If anyone has had this issue , let me know how you solved it, please! thanks for any hel, advice, Tom----newbie

The LS1 does seem to "shudder" a little on shut-down. This may be exacerbating anything loose on your chassis. The only way to know for sure would be to get under the car and check all your bolts and clamps.

Try holding the clutch in when you turn the car off, it's the throw out bearing.
If that doesn't stop the rattle and shake, it may be something else.

In a C5 with manual transmission, if you turn the engine off with the car in neutral and the clutch pedal not pushed in, then it will make a rattling noise similar to what you're describing.

Its 100% normal and nothing to worry about. If you don't like hearing the sound than you can avoid it by pushing in the clutch pedal while turning the car off.
