thank you sir , i'd normally do a search but happened to be in a hurry this morning . my codes cycled faster than three seconds and i had a hard time writing them went through them about 6 times . about ten codes all with ''h'' after them but two also had a ''c'' after them . b0441 and p0455 i think the p0455 is one i need but it was not defined on suggested list . i don't know what the ''c'' meant but assumed it was something indicating latest code set . thanks again . .peace
Watch this video and it will show you how to manually go through the codes instead of having them come at you like a Gatling gun.
Please post all your codes with the H and/or C. For future reference, if you pull your codes after a drive and before you shut off the engine it will show active issues as C. Once you turn the ignition to OFF many codes that really are active will just show as H.
that worked really slick . codes with just ''H'' are : ao-ldcm ; b2282- b2284-b2264-u1064 ;;; a1-rdcm ; b2283-b2285-u1064 ;;; 99-hvac ; b0361-b0363-b0367 .......codes with ''H'' and ''C'' are : 10-pcm ; p0455 ;;;99-hvac ; b0441 . thanks a ton!!!!!!!!!!
I had the same problem. Reset the light bought a new cap and no more problems for about 6 months when I started smelling gas in my garage. I did a search and found there was a bulletin out to fix the tank under warranty for 10 years. Yours might still be under warranty, depends on when the car was first put into service. Check it out quickly because it will be close. You might look at this. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...or-smells.html
how about taking the cap off 2000 and trying it on the 2004 ?? i read in manual about the light but don't recall it mentioning turning it off so guess i need to look again . the info about the fuel tank leaks is scary both the prices and the disaster potential . TRULY , appreciate every ones help , thanks again . . .peace........i was going to try switching gas caps but since cap hadn't been off since last october i did not try the switch .
My light has come on a couple of times and it was the gas cap even though it seemed to be tight. I have just gotten in the habit of turning the gas cap two full turns more after it starts clicking and no more problem!! I think that the clicks help to make it just a little tighter in much the same way an impact wrench works. At any rate, I haven't had the problem again since.
wifes daily driver was gone weather was nice so i got 2004 out and scrubbed the garage floor . then drove it about 15 miles and realized when i got home '' check engine light '' was off which pleased me greatly . thanks again for every ones thoughts . by the way , and i don't mean to offend anyone especially after you've been so helpful , driving the 1966 with stick and side pipes i felt like i was driving a vette but driving the 2000 or 2004 i really forget i'm driving a vette it feels like any other automatic automobile . guess i'm getting old [75 in a couple of weeks] and that i've had to many c2 and c1 vettes [if it's possible to have had to many ] . . . .peace
