My new to me Z06 seems to rock a lot at stop lights. As soon as its rolling its gone. But when idling and sitting still, i feel like i get a lot of side to side movement.
Even though the cam in the Z06 is small compared to aftermarket cam's,it is bigger than stock so you get some of that at stop lights. The cam is bigger in the later years so maybe a touch more rock.
When I bought it, my Z had an MS3 in it; the rocking drove my wife crazy. Now it's got a slightly smaller cam in there and she is less irritated, but it still bumps quite a bit at a light. It's just part of the character.
its normal... My z06 loves to do that on redlights too...As soon as I throw it in neutral and roll, it will start rocking... you can see my whole car rock side to side
Mine has a slight occasional rock due to the "baby" factory hot cam. Hell my GTO even had a slight rock & "shiver" every once in a while due to the ever so slightly more aggressive cam in that version of the LS1 (hence the 5 more HP and 15 more lb/ft compared to the vette/camaro w/ the same motor).

The 2004 GTO shares its cam with the 2001-02 F-bodies; any difference in horsepower and torque can be attributed mostly to rating and the GTO's much more favorable exhaust routing, in addition to variances in the setup of the air intake and efficiency of the accessory drive, in addition to any liberties GM has taken with the rating of both the F-bodies and the GTO.
Remember that the LS3 is identical between the C6 Corvette and the 5th-gen Camaro SS, but the Camaro is down a rated 4hp to the C6... this isn't unusual.

Good point - it has been a while since I looked into the differences, I did remember it was rated the highest of any LS1 application though. It definitely shook more than any stock F body or C5 I was ever in as well - but that could also be due to any number of things like my tune and motor mounts, then when I added LS6 heads and other things obviously more change.
At any rate, I think we can all agree a little shake is a good thing!
