Default HUD Display is stuck

My 04 HUD display is working, however, the display is out of sight and cannot be brought up enough to be visible when seated in drivers seat. When I move the button to move the display up or down the display moves slightly left or right but not up or down.

Does anyone have any suggestions short of removing and replacing the HUD?

Thanks in advance.

You can remove it and repair it. The plastic pin breaks off one of the rotational points. There is a very good writeup on how to replace the pin that allows it to rotate with a screw. I'd try Google and search "c5 HUD repair, corvette forum."

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I was hoping for a miracle.

If you can't find it using the search function, PM me your e-mail address and I'll forward you a few files on fixing the HUD.

Thanks, I can see the problem looking down into the HUD from the windshield. The drivers side mounting mechanism on the mirror is broke. Found a couple of good posts on fixing it. I wonder if removing windshield and having it professionally reinstalled would be easier than removing dash to get at the HUD. Eventually reality will set in and I will remove the dash...what a pain.

You'll still have to remove the dash to get it out, so leave the windshield as is.
