I am intrigued by the guys that claim no cats = big smell. My lawn mower and snow blower do not smell.
The pre-1974 cars never had cats and they don't smell. Today's cars do a more efficient job of burning gas so what am I missing?????
Thanks
Ken

No cats = smells like unburned fuel. With a proper tune, it shouldn't be an issue.
My former Mustang Cobra was catless with LTs and had a "proper tune" from SCT and it definitely smelled like gas. My wife even asked if my Corvette "would smell like the Mustang did" when I bought it.

Every time I get behind a carb'd car it absolutely REEKS. Every time. Makes me either drop back, pass, or turn off onto another road. If you make the car leaner than stoich, it'll stop smelling like unburned fuel and start stinking like NOx. I think I actually prefer a slightly rich smell to a lean smell.
I have lt's,no cats and an "alright tune"..the smell doesn't bother me (maybe im use to it) but it bothers just about everyone that comes near my car lol..hopefully when I finish getting the tune on point, I can lessen the gas smell some.
