Default Base C5 front leaf spring

Hello everyone, I am definitely a Newbie (hope I'm in the right place). My front leaf spring is tattered and frayed, have found a couple of springs on the web, my question is this: will a 2001 Z06 or Z51 front leaf spring fit a 2001 c5 base model? I am pressed to find the right one, if it doesn't, can someone help me to find the right one.

Thanks in advance,

Naytedawg

Thanks 8VETTE7, I was trying to stay with the FE1 but am not having much luck finding one, all of the ones I've found have been for Z06 and Z51, any idea where I can find one for standard C5?

Check with aesautoparts and vettenuts on here. They are forum sponsors that part out wrecked vettes. I have bought from both.

Thanks for your response, I wish there was some way I could get the spring from you.

Thanks for t5he response, I have sent a note to Aesautoparts in hopes of securing one of the springs. Do I need to change both front and rear or will I be ok with just changing out the front?

If the rear is in good shape then you dont need to replace. If you find a Z51 or Z06 springs I would spend the extra and replace both for a better handling spring, I would also do the C6Z06 shocks while they are out and metal end links with C6Z51 sway bars.... BUT it all depends on how much you want to spend... most of it has to come out anyway I see it as a good time to upgrade.

Two good vendors and hopefully they can set you up with a new spring.

I tried emailing yesterday and today even replied directly to the post (AES auto parts) on C5 parting, today, I have not received any kind of response, do you have any other suggestions?
