Default Heater/AC control window

I can't see through the dark window to set the temp. for the heater or AC, or see what the temp is.I can see it in the garage with all the lights out.Does anyone have this same problem and if so what if any is a remedy. Thanks for any help on this problem.

Not sure what year your car is. Later units have the resistors in 2 rows of four side by side, still 8 total. They will look the same but in a slightly different location on that board.

If you can't do the work yourself there are vendors here that do it. I did it myself on my unit which was dark/black. Fixed it.

Here is how to access the HVAC unit. You can stop when the console bezel is removed as the link is for getting to the IPC.

If you are going to do this, understand they are surface mounted and do NOT have wires going thru the circuit boards. As a result they can move around if you are not careful. Recommend you use the smallest tip pencil soldering iron you can get. Heat it up and put a little solder on the tip and then apply to the joint and let it melt in and then quickly remove the iron. The heat can travel thru the resistors and actually melt the other side if you are not careful. Ask me how I know.
