I am in no way an expert photographer but I am learning more and more. Here is a great link with good information. If you have a link with good photography tips please share. Here is a few of my favorite pictures I have of my car.
I use a Canon T3i with a 10-22mm wide angle lens most of the time and also a 17-85mm
Some tips I've picked up over the years in no particular order:
1) Use a tripod whenever possible
2) Keep the ISO setting as low as possible at all times
3) Either have a very simple background, or an extremely busy one
4) Never have objects "growing" from the car (think telephone poles)
5) Typically don't shoot into the sun
6) Be cautious of shadows
7) Keep the horizon level +/- 5*
8) Try placing the car with the back bumper closer to the edge of the frame than the front
9) Tire shine!
