So I was preping my gf's C5Z for a track day of should I say had just finished, and got an ABS code 1214 Solenoid voltage low. the manual says replace the unit,,,, are all of these the same? can I use one from a different year??? I tride to clear code it resets no other issues with wireing.
Thanks for any help

Ok, since nobody gave you any sort of an answer... those systems were updated for 2001 (with the advent of the Z06), so you'd probably be good to go with one from any year 01-04
Don't hold me to it, I just think that's a good place to start
thank you, and yes the 04 worked in the 02 I just had to use the pressure sensor harness from the correct car's abs unit ( the pressure sensor plug is different but the pig tail plugs in to the chassis harness by the drivers side of radiator.
Code is gone ( the code followed to the other car) the car drives well we will see this weekend if all is really fixed....

1214 code more than likely can easily be fixed with just a little solder and maybe a $5 relay... there is a big thread in the tech section on how to fix it... basically you just remove the ebcm, open the case up, and resolder a few points on a relay, and maybe replace the relay but try resoldering first, in most cases that seems to fix it... I was racing another car last week, in comp. mode and I got the service abs/traction/active handling message and dash lights... I had a hard 1214 code that would not clear... sure enough I had 2 broken solder points on my relay, I resoldered those and everything is clear and working normally
Fixing it can be done by replacing the relay but that may be a temporary fix. The diagnostic process for the code requires some resistance measurements on the pump motor in the BPMV. If those resistance measurements are less than infinite (high resistance short) you have to replace the BPMV and replace/repair the EBCM. A lot of times the pump motor is drawing excessive current which ruins the relay contacts in the EBCM. Replacing the relay will get the system working to some degree but the cause of the problem still exists and will eventually ruin the new relay (even a heavy duty one). Make sure you are not ruining your swapped in EBCM or you could have two bad ones.
There is no fix for a shorting pump motor other than complete replacement.
