Default A few Questions from a new Guy

Questions-Looking for a C5.Is there a tutorial where a person can go to get a quick do's and dont's of buying your Vette.Where besides here is a good place to search? Is it true in C5 six speed you can't shift thru all the gears unless you take off fast?In other words you can't go from 1-2-3-4-5-6 on a normal take off?I've already been advised to purchase an 01 or above,so I do know that much...
Thanks,
Tony

Welcome to the forum.

Start by reading this from the section above:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...ion-files.html

There are always advantages to buying as new as you can afford, and in the case of Corvette, several significant changes for the years 2001 and newer.

Good luck-

Tony, any of us could write volumes. Go to the 'sticky' page and read all you can. There are plenty of good cars on Ebay and Cars.com as well. In many cases you get what you pay for. My Z06 ('02) cost me 24K with 16k miles over 2 years ago and I love it. Great deals and cars are out there.
The shifting question refers to the 'skip shift'. That is easily eliminated by a tuner or a little plug in gizmo for $15. As for years, I would encourage '02-'04.

The "short of the long" here is that you have posted here on the Forum, THE place where all your answers can be found. There is an amazing amount of knowledge and experience on EVERYTHING related to your C5.

The search engine is quite useful, but a simple post and a short amount of time will most always prove to be your answer.

Welcome, good luck and stay tuned.

That thread contains a lot of buying information, including a checklist you can use when looking at a car. Good luck and hope you find the car that is just right for you.
