Well I was on the way to work and some guy decides to blindside my Vette =[ entire passenger side from the beginning of the door through the rear got messed up. Rear quarter panel is has some fiberglass missing and my passenger door will not open and the window wont go down. Does anyone know if this my car will be salvaged? I have heard of cars getting totalled for the smallest of accidents.
I will take a guess. Yes. It would help to know the year, body style, mileage, overall condition, stock or heavily modded. Pictures would also help.
Sorry to hear about the accident. I have been there and done that before. It is no fun.
I guess i should have put that, im still a bit in shock and just cant believe it happened. It is a 1999 Vette coupe, 70,000 original miles. Mods on the car were 18 & 19 CCW 505a wheels, corsa extreme catback with corsa x pipe, bbk throttle body and bbk cold air intake. Carbon fiber hood, i had just bought a set of z06 seats and got my sun visors re built which was a pretty penny.

Just based on your description of the damage, my guess would be it would be a good chance it will exceed the threshold for a total on the car. Only takes about 85% of the value in damage to be a total.
Really sorry to hear that. I know that some insurance companies won't cover mods, (mine), but it sounds like your mods were all undamaged so that shouldn't come into play. Geico covered mine when a wind storm took out the front, rear and one side window and an $8000.00 full paint job but that was still less than half the car's value. If they total it you should be able to remove and keep the mods for your next vette. Don't be afraid to fight with them. it has proven to be very effective in the past for me.
May not look like much, but my window wont go down, door wont open glass has imprint of the side mirror glass in it lol and first "rough" estimate i got today was $8,000. Didnt have time to go anywhere else as i work 12 hour shifts at night, but i also am waiting for the insurance to send an adjuster. Oh well, wasnt my fault so ill take a fix or a newer year vette
