Default Trans Fluid Low Level Warning?

If the trans fluid is low, will a warning come up on the DIC?
Thanks, in advance!

There's no transmission fluid-level sensor.

You'll probably get a "HIGH TRANS TEMP" message at some point, but I have no idea whether it will happen in time to save the internals if it's caused by low fluid.

You would notice some serious shifting issues if it was low, especially if you have an auto

I don't recall seeing any mention of such a warning in the owner's manual.

Yes, especially since I understand checking the fluid level is a very involved process!

It's trivially easy if you have a lift: just unscrew the plug and see if the fluid is level with the bottom of the hole.

Without a lift, the hard bit is that the car has to be up high enough to get underneath, level, and at operating temperature...not exactly a DIY-friendly job, at least not at my age.

Sounds very much like checking level in a differential or 4-speed. That IS easy!
Thanks, Lee
