So the description claims that his only mods are LT headers w/o cats, Borla Stingers, and K&N air filter. But he is destroying Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Anyone have info on this guy? I don't think those mods can produce these results.
There is a lot of nonsense editing in this video, so scroll through it to get to the racing.
Welcome to 2005, This video is older then the Internet lmao
Yeah it looks that way, but since I'm new to the z06 community I am having a hard time believing that those are the only mods the car has. My C5Z with intake exhaust is ridiculously fast even compared to my bolt on LS2 GTO, but I doubt headers, exhaust and intake do that to a z06. Can anyone explain this?
I don't understand why this is hard to believe. Check the C5Z fast list (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-z...list-only.html) and you'll see that a bolt-on Z can run low to mid 11's at 120+ mph in the 1/4. A stock Ferrari 360/430 or standard Gallardo can't do that.
Your new to the Z06 get used to it. This is how these cars perform. When my old black C5Z just had a catback It would yank my 430whp Cam bolton GTO and did on several occasions... It would pull my buddies TVS1900, cam, stalled GTO with just a full exhaust...

first of all an exhaust axel back does nothing for a basic bolt on Z, as the factory Ti are the best flowing system out there, most owners only change them out for a better sound, and what kind of intake do you have?
I played with a brand new ZL1 Camaro last weekend and I managed to pull him by a little, I have a vararam with power duct, lg long tubes, tune from ECS, and corsa indy exhuast
It's great to see an "old" C5Z taking on all those high-end cars, especially when it walks the Lambo Diablo. I always loved that car (from my days of playing Need for Speed on Playstation). It does have nearly 100hp on a stock C5Z, but that thing has to weigh around 2 tons! Old video, but I've never seen it before so it's new to me!
GOOD MORNING!!
I am hoping to get some opinions on my dilema. I am a prospective first time corvette buyer/owner. I was looking at 2002-2004 Z06 models, to fit my budget. But I am also now considering a 2008 model, but probably will not be able to afford to go with Z06 in those years models. It seems that the later models even without Z06 may better/comparable perfomance. Any opinions?

I've done a few "nostalgia races" and some against newer sports cars in my 2004 Z06 and except for the newer Z06s, and the ZR1 it keeps up well with most and is faster than a lot. This is a very fast car, one of the first to do a sub 8 minute lap (7:56) at the Ring. Look at the top times at the Ring and you will see the c5 Z06 is in some pretty nice company. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%c3%bcrburgring_lap_times
When it comes to bang for the buck and overall fun to drive, it's hard to beat the C5 Z06. I agree with what's been said about bolt ons, you need to get inside the engine with heads and camshafts and new MAFs and intake runners to make a big difference, or else you could bolt on a supercharger if that's your thing.

When you consider that he is racing older Ferrari 360s, a 1st Gen Gallardo, what looks like a pre - '99 Diablo, and a 996 911 TT S it isn't too surprising. All those cars had less than 500 hp and were 12 second cars in the 1/4 mile.
With his mods he is pushing a comparable amount of horsepower with a lot less weight than all those exotics.
I guess I still need to get used to this cars power. With these worn GoodYear tires, I have yet to feel the true power of the car. Good to know that its on a whole different playing field compared to the GTO.
