I understand that the 3057 is the stock bulb for a c5, and from what I find online, a 3157 LEDis the replacement? Does it function like the incandescent bulb?
Yes the bulb will function but if it's a dual filament bulb your turn signals may hyper flash. When I replaced all my bulbs with LED's front and rear I also got the hyper flash harness to stop it.

Your avatar (if that's your car) seems to have 'upside down euro' tail lights. Since I found what I hope is a fix for my flaking tail light lenses, I will be keeping the euro's but I would like to change to LED as well as switchbacks for the front. So, I think I need a 3157 for the tail light/brake and an amber 'normal' bulb for the turn signal section.
I have the red/amber euro lenses. I just finished installing 3157 red led bulbs in the upper and 1126 amber led bulbs in the lower along with a hyperflash harness, all from the Radioflyer. They look fantastic.

I was just sitting here trying to remember how many bulbs, I now think there were more it's been so many years since I installed them. They have what ever the kits come with. Yes they look upside down but I assure you they're not, here's a pic...
It was just the the effect of the avatar photo, yours are like mine, which use 2 bulbs per light.
. I LOVE white cars! Yours is the best looking white Z I've seen.
Btw, did you really mean 1156 bulb?

What wheels are those and do you have a side view of the car?
Alternatively, you can convert your entire car to Cree LEDs (minus the DRLs since the Cree LED bulb is too large) here. This kit also comes with a hyperflash harness to maintain your factory turn signal flash rate.
I would be careful here. The bulbs from Radioflyer are much dimmer than stock. They are NOT brighter as advertised on their website. You will notice that there are no reviews as I am sure they were all negative as was mine!

If you do get them do not expect much.
For the Front bulbs, it's true there is not an LED bulb available that fits in the factory location that appears brighter than the factory bulb. (this is due mostly to the focus of the reflector) We do however offer the rear-mount modification that allows use of the Cree LED bulb which IS MUCH BRIGHTER than the factory bulb:
