Hi I'm quite a young one for the corvette owner but I need help!
My right side rear wheel tire screeches when I drive or the tire spins. The rotor seems to be loose even with the calibers bolted on tight. I believe it's the piece that the lugs nuts go on to that is causing the problem. I can post a pic of it if anyone need me to

Default Anyone

Does anyone at least know the name of the item that the lug nuts go onto?? It is missing on of 5 because someone tightened it wrong and messed one up so the nut won't screw on. I believe this could be a cause??

Post a pic. Are you sure you have pad left on your brake pads?

Just bought the brake pads a little over a month ago. I drive pretty aggressive but I doubt they would be wearing out already?

Post pics. Are you referring to one of the five studs the lug nut tightens down on his missing?

as you can see the bottom left lug nut screw is a little worn. but the rotor seems to be loose, when force is applied at the opposite side of the brake

I was unable to see the pictures. If your rotor is loose/wobbly when you take the wheel off that is normal as the wheel when torqued down holds the rotor in place. Jack up the car with the wheel on and spin the tire. First is there any wiggle in the tire second as you spin does it get tighter and looser (brake grabs and lets go as it spins) or is there constant grabbing. Second take the tire off, expend the brake pads with a flat screw driver so the rotor passes through with out binding and spin the hub. This will tell you if the bearing is real bad. From what I gathered you might have a bad stud and when torqueing down the wheel you might be warping the rotor causing it to bind (on/off) as the wheel turns. If you have a bad stud have it replaced, don't drive on only four good studs.

Default thx

thanks! not planning on driving it at all until its fixed. but i believe its grinding with the brakes because when driving, every time i press the brakes the noise completely does away. but when no brake applied, it screeches as the wheel turns, it sounds so bad!!!

Do this. I'd suggest taking the car to a mechanic who you trust. It shouldn't be an expensive fix.
Keep us posted.

This does sound reasonable. Give what Zagger mentions a try and you still can't figure it out, take the car to a mechanic that can diagnose the problem.

The pad is likely not secured properly and is dragging.
Take the wheel off and inspect the pad mounting, I'll bet one of them is skewed.

Default Conclusion!

So I came to the conclusion it's my wheel barren. When jacked up, the rear right wheel is wobbly. It being loose, I believe is what's cause my rotors to scrap on the edge of my brake pads causing the terrible noise
Anyone have a clue what price I can expect? About to take her to the shop👌
