pop-up gremlin
I own a 2001 conv.
It has 29,000 miles and is only driven to club outings and dinner.
The headlights are in sentinel mode, so they usually pop-up while in the garage (until outside).
Starting two days ago, the driver's side popped-up but the right one did not.
But when I then turn the headlights on manually on the lighting switch, the errant headlight pops-up.
A couple of months ago after getting the car back from the body shop (they removed and painted the entire nose), neither headlight would pop-up.
I replaced fuse #6 (which had blown) in the toeboard fuse box which corrected the problem completely.
The only code that I have seen on the DIC was "charging error" after the car set for a week, but it started right up.
The voltage gauge has shown proper charging.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I have a 2001 also.That happened to me one early morning.Right at dawn.Put back in manual have worked fine since.Don't no if sensor got confussed with partial light.Good luck let us know if you find something out.
