Spent most of the day working on the Vette, I finally replace the passenger side day time/ directional lens by removing the headlight assembly.
Then I removed the passenger seat to start the install of new seat foam and leather skins. While I was at it I did the seat track repair. Did not get the leather installed all the way but I am making progress.

However, I did some work and noticed one area that I will fix when it breaks...I did an engine flush, fresh oil, filter, pcv (which I had to make a new hose) and finally replaced the serpentine belt.
I forgot to replace the A/C belt, so since its not a "vital" component (well the heat would suck, but the car would be able to be driven without it) I said screw it for now. The serpentine belt is easy to put on, yet takes a few hold the breath and let someone turn the motor over moments. And while the covers were off, cleaned all the build up of crap on the rocker covers. She looks pretty!!

That's exactly what I did this weekend as part of my Grand Sport porject.
Friday night I pulled the seats and did the rocking seat fix on the driver's side (passenger side is manual, no need).
About half of Saturday and most of Sunday was spend installing new foam (Vette Essentials) and leather covers (DJ Motorsports). I converted the seats from base to sport. I also installed the seat rebuild kits.

Nice! I just finished the passenger side seat tonight and will be starting the drivers side tomorrow night. The toughest part of the whole project was remounting the power seat controls. Trying the locate the screw holes and making sure I did not cut the leather in the wrong spot was nerve racking.
Here are a couple of quick before and after pics...in the after pic, notice the difference in fit (wrinkles) between the two seats. Both seats looked the same when I finished the install.
Now, whether or not that amount of wrinkles is normal or not I do not know. Perhaps the seat covers were not a perfect fit...more likely, the installer (me) wasn't the best!
Regardless, I spent about 90 minutes with a heat gun on the left seat to remove the wrinkles. I would say I got 90% of the wrinkles out and am very happy with the way it came out.
I hit a snag on the driver side seat. Took the old leather and foam off to find the plastic that is attached to the bolster hinge was broken and now I have to fabricate a new piece.
Hopefully have that fixed by tomorrow afternoon so I can start putting everything back together.

Still need to do the other seat (obviously).
Instead of a heat gun try a towel soaked in hot water, squeeze out the towel and place it over the wrinkles for a few minutes. Then try smoothing out the leather by getting it to conform to the cushion.

This is what I tried first...
Took wet wash cloths and heated them in the microwave for five minutes, then laid them on the wrinkles. Did this 2X and as far as I could tell it did nothing to help.
It might work on really minor wrinkles, but it did not appear to help me.
