Default I need help!!

I posted a few weeks ago about the seats in my 97 c5. I ordered some new seat covers and decided to put them on today. I got the passenger side out and got it redone. The problem is with the driver side. The motor to the seat is completely shot and the seat is all the way back, I mean all the way. I tried reaching from the back and couldn't get my hand down to the 2 back bolts, tried coming from the front but the seat is just too low to the floor. Took the two front bolts off and tried to lift the seat some to get to the back bolts with no luck, Looked under the car to see if I could release the bolts from underneath, no luck. Is there any way to manually crank the seat forward? Any other ideas that I've overlooked. I mean, you would think that at least 80% of the time these seats are coming out to replace bad motors. If the seat is all the way back then how can you take it out to replace it, makes no sense to me. Hopefully someone has some advice for me. Thanks guys.

Is it possible to wiggle a long extension on a universal joint down there? I recently had to take a bolt out way down where my hands could just barely reach. Snapped a couple of extensions together and I had the bolt out in a few seconds.

I would say no, but I could be wrong, maybe someone on here has done it before but to me it didn't look like it was possible.

Sorry to jack the thread, but where did you get the covers? They look good.

Are you sure the motor is shot and it's not a fuse? If you're changing the covers anyway, maybe you can cut the top cover off, remove the foam and make some space to get to the bolt through the seat frame. I'm spitballing here

Thanks for all the advice guys. I ended up getting it out. The seat actually was able to move up and down but not forward or back. Stupid me never tried until after i posted here for help. I was able to raise the seat up enough to fit a wrench behind the seat. It took me over 15 minutes to get the 2 bolts out, but hey it worked. That write up that you posted will come in handy when i do decide to fix whatever the hell is going on with the seats. As of now its all the way back and thats perfect for me but i would like to be able to adjust it other ways. Given that it will still go up and down i doubt its a fuse, relay. Any idea what the issue could be as it still being able to go up and down should rule a few things out.

I ordered the seat covers off of eBay from what i believe to be some small company. Couple of things with these. They didn't come with any holes in them (holes in the leather for the lumbar control board, seat release on head rest.) This could be normal for any seats you order though, just somewhat surprising to me. Also there is a very small imperfection on both the driver and passenger seat bottom. The stitching is bunched up for less then an inch in one spot. You really have to be searching to find it but when you spend hundreds of dollars on something you hope for it to be perfect. Other then that they fit and look good. If anyone is interested in purchasing a pair I'm sure i can find the username.
