This car is a friend of my nephews who said there was a death in the family and this car was in the garage. They said they wanted to get rid of this for book value then we found this add that had the car listed. Sorry I don't know how to put the pics in but the car is practically brand new as you can see from the add, but $29k? What is a realistic price.

Although there might be someone that would pay top price for a low mile, ten year year old car . .. I'd say it's high by $7 grand. Depending upon how long it's been sitting, there would be serious maintenance issues and assuming it's on factory tires, there's a $1500 expense that would need to be done immediately.

It may be booked high, but no one's going to pay that much for a base model C5. Some rich crazy person maybe, but not likely. Id say 20K would be more than a great sell price if they can get that. And I think it will still be up for sale for quite a while at that price too..
I really don't know much about C5's but from the listing is that car loaded? We were hoping to get it at maybe a steal when they said they wanted to get just book for it and get rid of it but then they turned around and listed it. I was hoping to get it for like $16-17K when he said he just wanted to get rid of it as I already have a '13 GS and don't really need another corvette.
beings a virtually identical car closed at a best offer under 25

in the most desirable coupe color produced how are you justifying that with an ad? people can advertise all kinds of crazy numbers. if it were a z06 i'd agree, the 5000 mile 04s are still pulling 28-29
Depends on where you look on this forum id say people would ask 30k and not sell but id say a realistic price would be 20-25 assuming its in great shape and they dont want to sit on it 6 months.
I just bought a c5 at a nice deall that would be 3-4k less than someone on the forum would ask but i watched for months and drove 21 hours to pick it up. If i were to buy that car i wouldnt pay 20k but id say it could sell for low 20s pretty easy on ebay or CL if it looked nice and you advertised it right.

Not identical, more miles, not the most desirable color and ebay is not the best place to sell a car. A 5000k '04 is worth between 25K and 29K. That's what they sell for around here and people are asking even more..
it all depends on how well it was serviced through out the year's if they never once changed the fluids in it, and its still sitting on the OEM tires like the day it left the factory then you could have to shell out some change to get all that taken care of, provided there is no under laying issues from it setting for so long...but if it was well taken care of then those issues are really no longer of a concern in my eyes, 25k to 27k is a fair asking price provided all the service records are up to par

The car isn't loaded but it's not just a base either. The tires will need to be replaced unless they've been already, regardless of how they look. Look at the date code on the tires. The car will probably sell between 25 and 27 if the tires have been replaced. Private party may have a harder time getting that much. Around here dealers would sit on that car till it brought good money, their asking that much for 40,000 mile cars around here.

Wanna bet?......$20k would be a fire sale price for that car.....
