I have used it and it did not turn yellow over time. But it did ruin my paint. If you use it; only install for trips etc then remove it. I left mine on for an extended period of time as my car was a daily driver and I wanted to protect it against paint chips. Over time it developed tiny air bubbles under it which I really didn't think were any big deal. A little unsightly but the product was still "protecting" the paint against chips. But the air bubbles caused the clear coat to break down and when I finally removed the product I had small pits in the clear coat.
Thanks for the input! I was planning on leaving it on. My 04 CE only has 9000 miles on it and wanted to protect it but this doesn't sound like the solution.
Had mine done about 4 yrs ago when I flashed in the hood and fenders to fix up all the stone chips and scratches.... Still on, hardly noticeable , used the 3M product ....if it messes up the paint if/when I take it off I'll just flash it in again...
I used it over LeMans blue. It was difficult to get it to adhere in some places and to lay flat. I removed it after two years because I got tired of fooling with it.
I've used it for years.... over Mag Red. No sign of any paint damage... just the opposite, it's protected my paint from road rash. It is a real pain to apply without bubbles... but I always figured the bubbles were temporary...but rash is permanent.
My biggest complaint is keeping it on after driving in heavy rain. One section in particular.... that "rocker panel" area just in front of the rear wheels apparently catches a lot of water splash. If you don't have the Cleartastic applied exactly right just a tiny corner lifting will eventually result in the product coming off.
