C5 Corvette Nexus 7 tablet install (Build Thread)
I use the stock volume ****.
There's also a PAC adaptor that gives me front and rear RCA outs for the amps. I run the front RCA outs into the EQ and then to the amps.

I was thinking about just mounting the mini in front of the stock radio and hard-wiring to the radio. But my biggest problem is I don't know if I can. I tried to add an iPod hookup to my radio a while back and it wouldn't work. I had everything torn apart and wired up, but I couldn't get my radio to switch to AUX. Dennis from DD mods was great and we troubleshooted by email until late into the night, but in the end it looks like it's my radio. I thought about getting a single din radio with bluetooth or an aux input, but I didn't want to mount that in the dash. I never thought about mounting the radio somewhere else and mounting the tablet in the dash. The only drawback I see is removing the tablet. I'm not sure I would want to leave in there all the time. It would be nice (especially in the winter) to be able to take the tablet out for regular use.
Good luck with the fine-tuning of your install!

I put this 7" Galaxy tablet into my daily driver 2004 Lincoln LS 3 years ago and used a headphone out to rca in cable.
I took out the radio and fabricated out of aluminum something to hold the tablet.
It is hinged and held in place with velcro and can be removed.
The EQ is behind the tablet.
I use the tablet volume control and just leave it on standby dimming the screen so it comes on instantly.
Something like this could be fabricated for the C5.

So I'm assuming I would need to wire the speakers to an amp and then the amp to the EQ, correct? I sold all of my aftermarket audio equipment with my last custom car, so I would need to buy all new stuff. In the long run, it might be easier and cheaper to relocate my stock radio or some other option. Any thoughts on that?

You could hook up a phone or tablet to your existing car stereo using an adaptor that utilizes the CD setting for an AUX port or if you do the $3.00 CD Aux port mod.
You can only use an external EQ if you have aftermarket amps.

I may be interested in selling this entire setup to any interested parties. I am testing the waters on selling my car (http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/4570112382.html for anyone interested). I may sell all this stuff and return it to a single din setup so the buyer doesn't have to worry about the tablet and all the learning curve involved.
If anyone is interested, I would sell the tablet, double din bezel, cables, PC fan for cooling behind the tablet, for $500 shipped + your factory radio bezel. Pretty good deal considering the bezel alone is $280, plus wait time, and the tablet is $270ish.
