A color-match console! I painted it myself! Here is "Cordelia" with new rims and tires, and repainted calipers, too! Not bad for 19 yrs young Cordelia's first car show! Everyone was guessing the paint was a custom color
Here are some of the enhancements I've made since I bought it in March, and we decided to call her Cordelia. Cordelia has two possible origins, from Old French meaning heart of a lion, and Welsh, meaning jewel of the sea. Both fit this car very well! Borla exhaust pipes are next!
Your changes are turning out real nice!! Mine is just like yours except 6 speed. What brand/model wheels are those? Like them also!! Dave

Hi Dave, These are 2010 Grand Sport replica rims, and here's the link to them- https://www.sdwheel.com/buy-wheel-of....75%2C5x120.65
I bought a wheel/tire package with the 17" and 18" oem staggered sizes and Nitto 555 G2 tires.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm unfortunately beginning to regret that this car is an automatic, and have found myself absentmindedly looking through "cargurus" for a C5 with a manual shift! I do love the color, though, and that keeps me enjoying it!

Here are a few updates I've made for Cordelia over the summer: new DRL's, painted the grilles satin black (plasti dip!), and added some saddle-color leather accent pieces from redlinegoods. I also replaced the original mufflers with Borla's 140017 dual tip axle-backs. I was going to install the 12649 straight pipes, but was afraid it would sound too much like a truck. Now that the massively unwieldy oem mufflers are off, I can always try the straight pipes in the future with relative ease! Oh, and I got a vanity plate, too.
The new DRL's with switchback LED's! White with the lights on... ...And amber when they're off! The housings are clear (no color inside the lenses) but the lens is smoke-tinted. Here's a clear shot of the Borlas, and the car parked next to it is my old Mustang that I sold to buy the Vette! I have a detailing business, and the new owner asked me to spruce it up for Autumn. The two cars got along pleasantly!

I was just looking at all the Bowling Green photos on this thread, and was wondering how much different is the Lime Rock Green (2014 Stingray) from our beloved Bowling Green? Lime Rock appears in photos to be a bit more on the "warm" scale of green, while ours is more of a cool bluegrass tint? Hey, it is Bowling Green, after all, right? Has anyone seen the Lime Rock in person and/or seen the two cars together for comparison?
I just purchased this beauty this past Saturday. First Corvette I have ever owned and fell in love with the color. 2001 with 31,000 miles and no mods. I didn't realize when I purchased it how few were built. I can't take it anywhere without somebody asking about the color.
Question for DBGM convertible owners: Does your trunk lid have a different "cast" to the paint from the rest of the car? I have noticed that mine looks different in certain light. With a strong halogen light held off angle, the rest of the body has a blue tint to the clear (almost looks cloudy) but the trunk lid does not. I am wondering if it was painted at some point or if it was a part that was supplied painted to GM.

Welcome to the club! Your model year is the more rare of the two, so kudos for laying claim to one!, Isn't it fun to have folks think the car is black, then realize it's green? Even the picture makes you think at first that it's black. This is a hard color to capture on film, but great for turning heads in person! There's a website called the green hornet registry that any owner of a green Corvette can join. https://t-rexsoftware.com/chazcone/c.../greenhornets/ It's just a fun registry of any and all Green Vettes.
Best of luck with your green beauty, and let us know if and when you give him (or her) a name!

DrDE, mine does not have any variance in the shade of green or the cast of the bluish clear coat from trunk lid to the rest of the body. (that bluish tint seems to be what I capture in pictures of it when the light is glancing off it).
It could well be that a prior owner had the trunk resprayed due to scratches or marring; the prior owners of mine evidently placed things on the trunk lid, causing many fine (and a few deep) scratches. The color seems to be easy to mis-match, and if the clearcoat isn't applied evenly, there could be the culprits!
For a reference, here are some pics of my trunk, showing why someone might be inclined to have their lid repainted, I went the route of polishing with a pretty aggressive compound and polish regimen, but it did not affect the overall matching of the color/cast.
This is a "before" pic of my trunk lid, showing the amount of scratches it had accumulated over the years. A regular and generous application of a certain youtube advertised miracle "no joke" product didn't help this finish At All! Yikes! This is NOT a table top!!!!! Why do people set things on the trunk lid? After quite a bit of polishing, but the color and cast remains consistent with the body
Could you post some pics of yours?

Thanks for the welcome Ed. I registered my car on the Green Hornet site so thanks for the info. I think that I have a name for my Vette. I have been a huge Godzilla fan all my life and since its green like him why not call him "Godzilla". By the way my 21 year son suggested to name it that. What do you think?
I think Godzilla is a great choice! It is indeed a fire breather when you step on the gas, too! You can have the Blue Oyster Cult song playing when you take it to cruise-ins or car shows!
I see you're up at the top of the state of Ohio, I'm down at the southwest corner near the KY line.

I just cannot understand the previous owner doing "whatever" to the trunk lid!! You did an admiral job getting it to look like it does now!! I would not have known where to begin! Dave

My trunk lid looks the same as the rest of the car. My front bumper has to be re-painted because the prev owner had it towed by I am not sure what?! Dave
Here is a picture in the lighting that best shows the issue. It doesn't look nearly that bad in most any other light. I am pretty sure it has been painted. I also noticed that when I removed my broken rear emblem, the paint under it had a ridge in the shape of the emblem. Not a hard mask line, but a bulge in the paint surface that took 1000 grit to remove. I bet it was painted and they pushed a new emblem onto the paint before it cured.
That looks very much like a respray, DrDE. There has been a lot of debate on the proper color code for this color, unfortunately. It seems like GM had fumbled the code numbers, as our body code says 9259. but some body shops get 9529 when they look up the color chart. And to make matters worse, they still call the color polo green! U91 seems to be the best code with which to start; I ordered some spray paint from Automotive Touchup and their U91 was a spot-on match.
Hey, what's happening at the BDGM clubhouse? I ordered a set of these today- https://www.corvetteenvy.com/product...ctor-headlight
and these- https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and I finally decided to bite the bullet and see what this looks like in real life in my saddle brown-accented oak and black interior- https://www.ebay.com/itm/110607911304
I rarely take Cordelia out at night, but I had to drive her home in the dark a little while ago, and was astonished at the anemic light output from the oem lights! I had done the "9012 HID" mod, but that wasn't much help; I kept the high beams on, but got flashed by oncoming vehicles.
So, with a budget of $300 that my lovely bride had agreed to, I began perusing this forum as well as Youtube for headlight vids, and came across Chris Draper's install demonstration on the Corvette Envy products. They were within my price range, and so I took the leap! I'll post up some pics when I do her "eye lift".
Here are a few pics from recent months- We attended our first Corvette-only road rally in October, the annual Fall Colors Tour! Out of over 275+ Vettes, there was only one other DBGM! I pulled her out into the driveway for a rinseless wash and a shot of Bead Maker; she likes the Mango smell of the Bead maker! Her winter bunker, with all her favorite signage to gaze upon. I can't wait to see what her new "eye lift" will reveal!
Do you all have any mods or repairs in store before springtime? Let's hear about what you're planning; interior, exterior, under the hood, oil change? Speaking of which, that's next....!

Ed, you’re making your Cordelia more and more striking! Wow. Head turner and love the mods. You’re motivating me. I’m looking to take a page from your center console repaint and pursuing a “tortoise shell” design. Found the console but first, my 2000 DBGM is getting the dreaded steering wheel sensor fix. Codes are more frequent. Found a relatively low-mileage sensor from a forum member. And all fluids getting flushed and changed. Meanwhile, here’s last week on a sunny day and meet-up with my pal’s Daytona Sunrise Orange C7. Love our color!
Sorry to hear about the steering troubles, but I'm glad you're able to find the fix! I noticed a few drops (about three) of differential fluid on the garage floor, apparently from when I was pulling her out of the garage. There were no spots where she had been parked, only along the travel path out of the door. I'm going to keep an eye on that, but she has been sitting for over a month through some chilly temperatures (lowest around 36 degrees, in the insulated garage! ).
I'm super excited to see the progress with adding tortoise shell to your interior! That sounds like a great twist for the oak and black theme!
Thanks for sharing this news and send more pictures when you can!
The lights on my 1999 were very bad when I purchased it a couple of years ago. As bulbs get old their light output goes down substantially. Changing to new bulbs helped a lot. Just a change to the OE version helped a lot. Not really a believer in the supper duper 180% of OE versions for low beams. I kinda like the approaching driver to be able to see.
I agree with you, Bubba! I am changing out the entire housing for the same reason you mentioned, instead of going for the LED option with the scattered beam patterns. The new housings will hold H9 bulbs instead of our 9006 (H3 I believe?) bulbs, and the light refractors are made to shine outwards more directly. Those ACA lights also remind me of the C2 and C3 "look" of the old flip-up light housings.
As an additional note, I read about how you can move the foglight beam upward by turning the set screw clockwise four turns. I'll be attempting that as well.
Knowing me, I'll end up driving it a grand total of three times in the dark over the next year!
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
