Pretty sure you'll need a 1/2" spacer to clear and keep from rubbing the tub. IF you're using the stock leaf spring and lowered you may have rubbing issues with the spring end as well. Good luck.

Yeah Im calling CCW tomorrow but want to have my ducks in a row.
Supposedly they were built to fit a C5.im ok with a 1/4 in spacer but not sure about a half.

Yeah, I would certainly call and confirm with CCW. I've spoken to John at CCW a few times and he absolutely knows his stuff. Keep us posted. What style wheel are they?

Look at my forum avatar pic...those sound very close to my BIG Street Classics. Classics are by far and away my favorite wheel design on our C5s.

Hmmmmm....I thought that the BIG streets were 12" wide rears. I know mine measure 12" from inside lip to inside lip and 12.5" outter lip to outter lip. Maybe I was misinformed or mine are oversized.

I don't remember the backspacing on mine and they are on the car so it'd be awhile before I can measure them.

Your best bet is going to be to call CCW and see what they say. I'm going to guess you'll be OK but I would still confirm with them. keep us updated.

That sucks to hear. I'm guessing that they said that the 9" back spacing is for the C6?

Few things:

1.) The BIG STREETS are:

10" wide, 7.75"
11.5' wide 8.75"

2.) Measuring 12.5" outer lip to outer lip means that you have an 11.5" width wheel. Usually American brand rims have 0.5" of lip to either side of the rim.

3.) Your 18x11.5 9" BS will come very close to fitting. It only sits 1/4" more inboard than CCW typically recommends (but that's a pretty tight fit as is). You can either get away with running a 1/4" spacer OR you *might* get away with no spacer if you are willing to run a narrower tire (i.e. 295/35/18).

I would also look into those wheels a little closer... Who would order a 18x11.5 9" BS? You sure you have the right specs on them wheels?

Best of luck.

Thanks for the detailed information. IF I didn't have rubber on them I'd go measure them to confirm that I did have the correct mesurements. I do remember the initial fitting years back and the Classics I have DID fit and bolt up and NOT rub the inner fender liner/tub but since I am on longer bolts in the rear and lower the metal ends on the leaf spring gouged the hell out of the inner barrel. I used 1/4" spacers and was fine. I moved up to 1/2" spacers for a little more clearance and because I got them cheep. Also running gorilla lugs extended barrel lugs for peace of mind until I order and replace the lug studs with ARP hardware.

I second the response that the CCW Big Streets are 18x11.5 with 8.75" backspace. They are really tight on my 99 FRC. With 8.75" backspace, I had a slight inner tire rub with 315-series tires lowered on stock bolts. I don't think 9" BS would work without a small spacer.

I pulled the trigger in the wheels. I'm gonna try them with the 1/4 inch spacer and some et lugs.
