Pull the codes from the Driver's Information Center (DIC). Do a search on how to do that and then post up the codes that display on the screen. One thing that will cause the check engine light to come on is if you don't have the gas cap on tight or if it is defective. Might just want to check that.
Need more details. what happened when the light came on? Were you driving or just starting the car.
I had been driving it for about 10 minutes & the light came on. I did not notice any difference in the cars performance or anything not working as it should.
Yeah pull the codes... I recommend video recording the codes, the DIC kind of goes through them quick, this way you can pause the recording and do your research on each code.

Wow, It really isn't that hard or complicated to read the codes...
Paper and something to write with will work.
Maybe this will be better than a video camera or speed reading:
Once the system has displayed all modules, it goes into the manual mode which allows selection of each module using combinations of Driver Information Center buttons. Manual mode can also be entered during the automatic sequence by pressing any button except E/M. Once the display shows Manual Diagnostics, select a module by pressing the OPTIONS button to go forward or the TRIP button to go back. Once a module is selected, a code is displayed, and if more than one are present; press GAGES to go forward or FUEL to go back.
To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press E/M.
