Default clutch "free play"

In years past, muscle cars, including vettes, clutch started to engage about 2" from floor. On my 03, clutch has to be almost all the way up before engaged. Seems strong and all, but hard for an old dog like myself to get used to!!! Is there any adjustment on, "free travel" or is what I have the new norm? Thanks in advance for advice, comments, etc, Tom 2003, Corsa extreme cat back, Airraid cold air intake

No adjustment, all hydraulic system, it self adjusts at the throw-out bearing.

However, you can go with a "Tick" master cylinder design that many use to resolve what you are experiencing. This is a C6 discussion but many C5's use it and they seem to like it.

Here is one link to a supplier:

I do very hard shifts but have not had any issues with my stock design so far. If I did, I would go with this myself.
