How often do you pack your front wheel bearings. I have had cars for 15 years and driven them over 175000 miles and have never packed the front wheel bearings. I have never heard of any bearing failures. What say you?
Well, these wheel bearings are actually a hub assembly... Therefore you cannot repack them... Just yesterday I replaced one of my hub assemblies on my 08 Avalanche w 114K mi.... Very simple to do.... I have replaced the ones on my C5Z in my garage w simple hand tools...

Back in the old days I packed them whenever I did a brake job. I think with new cars they pretty much last the life of the car.
So what you are saying is it would be back to repack them then?
I'm assuming you meant to type "bad to re-pack" not "back to re-pack"................
I don't think you can repack the bearings, not without disassembling the units, which also has the electronics for the anti-lock brakes/traction control/active handling, and I think to attempt to do so you would damage the unit.
I think the theory is they are packed/sealed for life and if you ever have any problems you just replace the unit.
